Free Stuff From The Web!!!...

First post in over a month! From me at least.....

The other day I stumbled upon something on the internet that I thought I would pass around to the handful of random visitors we get here on the blog.

Are you a Halo fan? Are you an old school Super Metroid fan? Have you ever wanted to see what would happen if Samus's gameplay and Master Chief's universe got smashed together?

If you answered yes to any of this, you are a huge nerd (Hey, I am too), but I am also about to make your wish come true. If you haven't seen this already that is.

Released about 2 years ago, Halo Zero Takes place before the events of Halo: combat evolved on the Original Xbox. Im not really an expert on the Halo mythos, so Im not sure exactly how long before the first game these events are. All I know is the gameplay works well.

A simple 2d sidescroller in the same vein as Super Metroid, Halo Zero's controls are mapped to your keyboard, and can be remapped in any configuration to suit your liking. Controls include a primary attack (gun), Left and right movement, Jumping and crouching, melee attacking, grenade throwing, as well as switching between grenade types (Plasma "sticky grenades" or Normal grenades) and weapon types. Weapons in the game, are the iconic weapons featured in the original Halo, and include; the pistol, assault rifle, sniper rifle, rocket launcher, plasma pistol, plasma rifle, shotgun, needler, and the energy sword. Aiming is done via mouse by means of on-screen crosshairs. Enemies included in the game are; Covenant grunts, elites, hunters, banshee's, and jackles. Health is managed in much the same way as the console versions, including the regenerating shield that recharges when your not taking damage.

Overall, not much to complain about here. The only real knock I have is the game's length, but considering its a fan made game have to understand why its not a hours long epic Halo game. Very well put togther.

Positives
Well made for a Fan game.
Decent graphics.
Music and sounds from the Original Halo
2 Warthog Driving levels!

Negatives
Short! will take you less than an hour the beat.

Head on over to The Official Halo Zero page to check it out for yourself. Its a free download and worth a try. They even seem to be working on Halo Zero 2!

Enjoy some screens I took....

Snake?? SNAKE!!!!!!!!!

So the whole reason I bought a PS3 was for Metal Gear Solid 4 and the Blu-Ray. Now I find out that Little Big Planet is doing a special MGS4 update. This looks like it will be so much fun, and the best part is the user created levels will be much more authentic with real music, backgrounds, and objects. Most importantly playing as Snake is going to be great. I don't know if we will have to pay for it but if we need to it will be money well spent. I haven't heard a release date yet but I will post it when I find out.

You'll Shoot Your Eye Out

Tis the season, to stress the fuck out. I mean really, it’s hard to enjoy the holidays when all you do is buy gift after gift and than wonder if the gift you got was good enough… or is that just me? Thankfully I don’t have to buy to many gifts, but I have noticed the older I get the more people I buy for. Some people are hard to buy for so you scour the net looking for something you can only hope the person will like. On the other hand the people that are easy to buy for are in their own way hard to buy for as well. If they are easy to buy for than chances are the gift you were planning on buying, well somebody was probably thinking the same thing. So I am going to make it easy for some of you and give you my top 5 gifts I would like to see under my tree.

5. Gift Card: You can’t go wrong with a gift card to pretty much anywhere. Just don’t be like Grandma and not realize times have changed and $10 can’t get you anything anymore.

4. Blu-Ray movies: If you know me than you know what movies I like, and if your going to buy me movies than you know Blu-Ray is the way to go.

3. Daredevil: I am WAY behind on this, like 6 months behind and just don’t have the time to go to a comic shop and feel out of place not knowing what I am doing, so I will leave that to you :)

2. Supernatural season 2 or 3: Preferably season 3 as it was the better of the two. TV shows come out faster than I expect and worst of all they come out around the same time. So I can’t pick any of them up because who can choose?

1. The Office season 3 or 4: I never had the chance to pick either of these up. I am always renting them, watching them, and of course laughing. One or the other will do, I have seen them all over and over so no need to keep it in order.

There you have it, another list of stuff down the drain. I must come off very needy with all my lists.

Holy Blu-Ray Review Batman!!

So the day has come and gone, no not the coming of Christ, though just as, if not more important, The Dark Knight has come to DVD and Blu-Ray. I of course bought the Blu-Ray edition and I must say it looks incredible. I have an even bigger appreciation for it because I had seen it on DVD a few days before I watched it on Blu-Ray, take my word for it, there is a difference. The DVD looks awful on a 42 inch widescreen TV. It’s very stretched and the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen take up most of the TV. Now the Blu-Ray on the other hand. Small black bars, and they even included the IMAX scenes so in some parts of the movie there are no black bars at all. As for the extras, meh… For the biggest movie of the year I feel a little let down. They give you three documentaries, that you could seen on the History Channel before the release of the theater release of the movie. None of which had anything to do with the making of the film.

The movie itself really lives up to the hype. I think a lot of people think because of Heath Ledger’s death this film gets put on a pedestal that it doesn’t belong on. Now, yes Ledger’s death helped hype this movie a lot. But I know before his death people were drooling over the trailer and saying how awesome his pretrial of The Joker will be and how big of a star he is going to be because of this role. With that said I think if Ledger were alive we would be in the same position with this movie, it was great and you can’t take anything away from that.

So obviously this movie is a must own, not a rent, borrow, or steal. Seriously I know it’s just about 2009 and you can torrent the file just about anywhere, or find a site to watch it on for free. But it’s worth the money to own it, and if you have a Blu-Ray player spend the extra ten dollars on the Blu-Ray edition. Seriously who buys the DVD when they can have the Blu-Ray?

Well that’s it for today… damn it feels good to be back!

We will be back soon...

Steve and I are both busy with going back to school and suffering what some call a little writers block. Bust rest assure we will be back and hopefully before the new year. So don't fret, oh I don't know, random google visitor. We will be back and...

Redemption? Lets hope so....

First, I want to start by saying; Im not the TV guy. Nate is the TV guy, but I saw the commercial for this again last night and felt that I needed to post something. Its been well over a week since I posted anything here on the blog. Serious writers block, but anyways....

Does anyone else find it kind of funny (and ironic) that the name of the "24" tv movie, that is set to air November 23rd, is "Redemption"? When I finally saw the commercial, during the MLB playoffs, I have to admit I got a good laugh out of that. After the horrific display that was season 6, redemption, is exactly what this series needs.

"24 Redemption" will follow the exploits of Jack Bauer as he travels to Africa to search for some place he can be at peace. Before you worry and gather visions of Jack joining some African tribe and living happily amongst the animals, let me remind you that the sole purpose of Jack Bauer is to kick ass! Peace makes for bad TV (although so did the 'conflict' in season 6), so rest assured that wherever Jack goes evil will follow, and probably in the form of a middle-eastern terrorist.

Upon arrival in Africa to meet up with an old friend, Jack gets caught up in a military coup. The events that follow are supposed to bridge the gap and lead us from season 6 (shiver) to season 7.
Lets hope that, redemption, is what this brings to a show that has fallen so far from grace. May it remind us that "24" used to be so good before.

Here is the trailer/commercial if you havent seen it yet.

I like how they say "Keifer Sutherland returns."...Was that not him last season?

...Hmmm maybe thats why it sucked...

DAMN IT!

Little Big Planet (warning: immature humor abounds)...

I saw this earlier today and had a little giggle to myself. Let me explain for those who done get where I may be going with this right away.

Sony has a game coming out soon, for the PS3 called Little Big Planet. Its a game in which users create content (levels, among other things) and share it with the community. I started reading up on this game a few months back when I initially saw screenshots of it, and it looks like its gunna be alot of fun. I was a bit pissed, because a few years ago i thought of a similar idea. I seem to do this alot. Hey, im not in the game industry, maybe I should be . Your in-game self is a cute little voodoo doll-esque Character named Sackboy. Yeah Sack.....Boy.

Now obviously this game is gunna support downloadable content and the guys at Media Molecule (The games' developer) have shown some off that they plan on adding. Anyone who has seen the commercial knows that if you preorder the game at Gamestop you get an exclusive costume for your sackboy, ::giggle:: of Kratos from the God of War series. Just recently announced is a Final Fantasy Pack that will add costumes like Sephiroth, and others Im sure, but the real goodness is the Metal Gear Solid Pack that will add costumes for Solid Snake!

Now the punch line:

I can't wait to pick up this game, download the Metal Gear Pack, and play as Solid Sack....or is it Old Sack? Perhaps Liquid Sack? Maybe the Pack will include Metal Gear Solid 3 stuff and we can play as Naked Sack.

So Delightfully wrong in every way....

Hey, as long as there is no Raiden Sack....

Here is the pic of him from Gamespot. The game will be available October 21st.

Who am I kidding, this was all just a reason to tag a post with "old sack" and not be totally disgusting. One life goal I can now cross off the list.

ET coming to us on 10/14/08??

http://www.ufodigest.com/news/0908/blossom.html

It’s all in the article, but apparently a women named Blossom Goodchild
, yeah I know, predicted a few months back that on October 14th 2008 species from another planet will make themselves known. She predicts it will be in Alabama, sure why not Alabama. She also says they will be here not to take over but to better ourselves as human beings, before we destroy this planet.

Now I am a believer in aliens existing on other planets, hell I will even go so far to say that some might even be here among us. I know that's crazy but seriously, anybody who thinks that out of all of the universe we are the only existing beings, well I'm sorry but that's insane. Now I'm not saying what this woman says is true and it WILL happen, but I sure as hell am intrigued. I really don't expect anything to happen next Tuesday, coincidentally the new Indian Jones comes out and that had aliens in it. Maybe that's what they meant. So I guess we should just watch the skies for the next week or so and keep an open mind on Tuesday because hey you never know. This does remind me a little bit of 'Signs' that movie by M. Night Shamalam(sp?). So if you excuse me I am going to go make a tinfoil hat and watch the skies.

Don't vote!!! Ok just kidding you should vote

This is kind of hypocritical of me since I don't plan on voting, I know it's so "important" and that my one single vote does count /sarcasm. I will admit that I think this is the most important election we have had in 8 years. But honestly I just don't see how my vote counts. Ok I will be fair and say this, I want Obama to win more than anybody else running for simple reasons none of which are political in any way. So if Obama loses by 1 single vote, I can be blamed and I dono I guess I will cut off a toe or something as an apology. The main reason I am posting this is because I thought it was done very well and it made me feel kind of guilty that I don't plan to vote. That and it's better than that fucking Vote or Die bullshit P Puffy Diddy douche bag did 4 years ago, when we all know who ever we voted for then... we were screwed. Anyway maybe this will make some of you vote, or just make you feel like shit because you choose not to.

My first online video!...

My first online video! This is a clip of an office prank I pulled on a fellow co-worker back in April. The video was shot be my boss with his cell phone. Its a video of him jiggling the jello mold with the duck in it. If you are a fan of "The Office" you should get a laugh out of this at least.

Let me know what you think!

Enjoy!

Hogan-phone!...

Earlier today on MSNBC's website this picture was on the very top in an article about the economy and the stock market. After seeing this I have one question to ask the government.....

Wha cha gunna do, when the stock market comes crashing down on you?!

The Dark Knight on Blu-Ray *UPDATE*

December 9th Ladies and Gents, that's all we have to wait for. I personally will be getting the Joker cover, at least I want to but I think most people will want that one so I will have to either pre-order or go to Wal-Mart at midnight. Can't wait to pick it up and watch it in all it's High Def goodness.

*UPDATE*After looking at the picture it doesn't look like two separate covers. One looks to be a slip cover the other the dvd case. Don't really know for sure since I have never seen a Blu-Ray with a slip cover and a lot of people have been saying they want the joker cover over the Batman one. Not that it matters but I figured I should make mention of it since at least 5 people will read this and 4 of you will call me an ass.*END UPDATE*

Oh and I found this the other day, I don't really know what to do with it besides let the 5 year old in me have a good laugh.

Kinda funny idea, not hillarious but good for a chuckle. Though I would share ...

Just another little project of mine. I have an account at Deviant Art and have done some stuff and posted it there. For those of you not familiar, its an art community. Yup, Im one of those weirdo artists, but you probably knew that already. Not much there as of now. Hopefully there will be soon. Let me know what you think!

Seriously... (The Chris Cornell edition)

Lets get a few things out in the air before I "Carry On".

Audioslave = awesome band. Soundgarden = awesome band. Chris Cornell on his own = Terrible!

This morning I heard the new Chris Cornell single "Scream", and this is exactly what I wanted to do once I heard it. Go ahead and do a little searchy search for it on the you tubes, its so bad I'm not even gonna post a video of it here. Following in the footsteps of Cornell's epic fail of last year, "Carry On", is a new album, due out in October, and sure epic fail for this year. Oh yeah and by the way, it's produced by...... Timbaland?

You read that right! The hip-hop (or whatever the kids are calling it these days) producer that is responsible for such gems as "The Way I are". The apparently not so rich, but famous record producer/rapper that doesnt even have a "Visa or Red American Express", (Listen to the song....do it, Im not making this shit up.) and can't supply his girl with cheese or car keys, (I guess the music industry really doesn't pay well) is now producing a record for Chris Cornell! That's the same Chris Cornell that once belted out songs like "Black Hole Sun" ,"Fell On Black Days", and fronted Audioslave.

Are these the black days he was referring to? A once bright shining career has fallen into a "Black hole......sun". Will the"Spoonman" ever get out of his "Rusty Cage", leave the "Superunknown", strike a "Jesus Christ Pose", and "Blow Up the Outside World" ever again?

Or will we have to face the "Ugly Truth", that he has suffered "An Unkind" "Head Injury" at the hands of a "Rhinosaur", leaving "Zero Chance" that his new album won't "Applebite"? Only time will tell.

Can I fit any more Soundgarden or Chris Cornell references and into one post? (Go ahead, Google the song titles if your not familiar)..... You know I can!

Here we go.....

I personally hope that his next album is good enough to leave all the recent crap he has written "Outshined". Till then this CD is sure to be a "Burden In My Hand". OK Ill stop now, I think you know how I feel.

Posted by Ste.....ah hell, "You Know My Name."

Seriously.... (The "Goatee Saver" edition)

OK, this is something I found online and just had to make sure everyone got a chance to see.

As a member of the "goatee wearing community" I find this incredibly sad. To think that this marketing is going to work on some guy out there. Someone who lacks the self confidence to even shave himself properly. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe its an art form and I'm just an artisan of goatee shaping. No...no I'm right, this is stupid.

Go here for the full effect.

Metallica - "Death Magnetic" review...

I closed my eyes and pressed play, my face looked as though I was expecting a great deal of pain, a kick in the nether-regions, or something terrible in that vein. These feelings totally validated by Metallica’s last effort, 2003’s St. Anger. To me this was essentially Metallica proving that the brown note exists as more than just a myth (busted, my ASS, Mythbusters!).

Now, first I need to say that I have been a big fan of Metallica though the years; unlike most of their “fans” that said they went bad after 1988’s “…And Justice For All”. I even got enjoyment out or Load and ReLoad, which is blasphemy to most “old school” Metallica fans. Do I think that their earlier stuff was better? Absolutely, but with the exception of St. Anger, none of there stuff was bad. I didn’t want to give up hope that they just didn’t have it in them anymore. Still, given the issues that have arisen within the band in recent years; their anti file sharing stance (that upset a lot of people just with the way they handled it), James’ drug and alcohol issues, as well as James and Lars’ general assholy-ness, I’m sure a lot of people did give up hope on them.

Part of me (ok, most of me) was frightened by the sheer length of time that they took in writing Death Magnetic. Its hard not to work up unbeatable expectations for something that takes half a decade to produce. For about a month leading up to 9/12 release of the album, the band released 4 tracks, one each week, to give fans something to chew on. The songs included where obviously some of the best tracks on the album; “The Day That Never Comes”, “Cyanide”, “My Apocalypse”, and “The Judas Kiss”. Hearing these tracks before the albums release did manage to calm some of my fears, but there are 10 songs on the disc, so that left 6 chances for the poop tone sounds of St. Laxative to surface again.

There I sat, chair turned toward the bathroom just incase of emergency as the play list progressed. However, I can gladly say that as the music started to play, slowly my fears started to subside, as did the intestinal cramping. A few songs stood out more than others, which was to be expected, and a few of them take a couple of listens to really get into. As I listened, a sound came out of the speakers that seemed familiar, yet slightly different. Not entirely 1980’s thrash metal, but also far from the tin can sound of St. Anger. Not really 1991’s “Metallica” (commonly and mistakenly referred to as “The Black Album”), 96’s “Load”, or 97’s “ReLoad”, but not really “Kill ‘em All” “Ride the Lightening”, or “…And Justice For All” either. “Death Magnetic is kind of all of them. The album barrows from the sounds of Metallica’s previous works, yet manages to add a more modern feel to it. I can gladly say that all in all Metallica didn’t disappoint. The album does have its weaker moments and is certainly not the best disc to bear the Metallica name, but for the most part it is a welcomed return to form for a band many gave up on.

If you ran away after having your ears flogged by St. Anger, you can come back. Give ‘em another shot, so in 5 years they can write “The Unforgiven IV”

I give this album 4 James Hetfield over exaggerated hyauh’s, out of 5

Top 10 items to pick up by the end of the year Pt. 2

Last week I left you with 10-6 of what I am waiting for this week it's the last 5. These are the things I am really anxious to get my hands on. I thought I should point out that this list is in a order of which I want most. Obviously I want all this stuff but number one is what I can't wait to get and number 10 is what I really want but not something I am going to steal just to have. Any way let me continue with the list.

5. Iron Man (Blu-Ray): Great, great movie, and what a way to start off the summer. I expected nothing from this movie and got everything. Robert Downey Jr did a great job, which he has been doing a lot this year. Every movie I have seen him in this year I have really liked. I think this movie rekick started his career. Releases Sept. 30, 2008.

4.
007 Quantum of Solace: I never like James Bond movie, I found them very corny and boring. So I was a little hesitant to watch Casino Royale, but when I did I loved it. Great story, great action, and no corny gadgets. This movie looks like it’s going to be very good if not better than Casino Royale and although I wont be technically buying this movie I will be purchasing a ticket to see it. Releases Nov. 14, 2008.

3. Fallout 3 (PS3): Yet another game on my list, haven’t wanted this many games since I was 16. Fallout is a series I have loved. The first 2 were great, and the one thing I liked about them is they were different. Most games back then were based in the dark ages with knights a wizards and all that crap. Always found that boring, Fallout was different, it’s in the future, post nuclear war I believe. And it has guns, not swords and bows and arrows and magic faggy spells. I am looking forward to owning this game and if it’s anything like other RPGs I have played… I will never finish it. Releases Oct. 28, 2008.

2. New Breaking Benjamin Album: Now this is only rumored to come out by the end of this year but I want it now. There isn’t one Breaking Benjamin song I don’t like. The one thing I like about this band is that most, if not all, of their songs sound different. Ben’s voice is insane, and doesn’t seem like it would come out of him. One thing I love about this band is that they are not hugely popular. I think it kills a band when they get huge because then all the people that need to express their hatred and thousands more to their bandwagon. Releases ???, 2008?

1. The Dark Knight (Blu-Ray): The movie of the summer, if not decade. Ok I wont go that far but I was pretty fantastic. Damn shame we wont get to see Heath Ledger reprise his role as The Joker, he was fantastic. I am so happy the trailer was released before his death because he was getting a lot of praise for the way he pulled of The Joker. So nobody can claim that it was just because he died that people think it’s so great. I have no idea what day this comes out just that it will be out in December and before Christmas, I just can’t wait to own it. Releases Dec. ??, 2008.

"I believe you have my stapler."...

So it seems the TPS report cover page isn't the only "Office Space" reference in "F.E.A.R.". The screenshot isnt mine, i found it online in yahoo images, but here is yet another reference I never noticed before. Thoght I would share.

As a side note on this subject, I also found this on the internets....

Top 10 items to pick up by the end of the year Pt. 1

This list will be part one of 2 of the of the Top 10 things I am looking forward to picking up before the year ends, be it a video game, movie, hell there is even a "book" on the list. So Enjoy and who knows I may open your eyes to something you didn't know about.

10. Supernatural Season 3: This show is pretty good, and some how it got on the CW network. Season 3 was a very good season and thanks to the writers strike it pretty much stayed on the story and didn’t have any filler episodes. It’s also the first season of the show to come out on Blu-Ray. Releases Nov 11, 2008.

9. Incredible Hulk: A much better movie than the first and thank God they redid it. Edward Norton as always was great, this movie is definitely worthy of a place on my new Blu-Ray shelf. Releases Oct. 21, 2008.

8. Left 4 Dead (PC): I don’t get to pumped about games anymore but this one looks pretty cool, and it’s got online coop which is the only reason I am buying it. I don’t know to much about the story except there are zombies, LOTS of zombies and it’s you and 3 other people fighting them off… sounds like blast to me. Releases Nov. 11, 2008.

7. The Joker: This is for the geek in me who sometimes likes a good graphic novel. It’s been a while since I read one but The Joker seems like it could be good. Now I don’t know much about the story but the art is very nice, and that’s what draws (pun) me to comics/graphic novels in the first place. I also like how Joker kinds of looks like The Dark Knights Joker, I hear the art was started before any Dark Knight photos were seen so it’s not a blatant copy by any means… not that that will stop people from bitching. Releases Nov. 4, 2008 according to amazon.com, and sometime in October everywhere else I have looked.

6. Far Cry 2 (PS3): This game looks incredible visually so I hope the game itself is as good as it looks. The original Far Cry came out a few years ago and was an ok game but visually it was incredible. A lot of new features and original ideas have been implemented into this game. Ripping shrapnel out of your arm or breaking your arm back into place to get your health back up is gruesome but damn cool. Releases Oct. 21, 2008.

Part 2 later this week...

Separated at birth?...

Ok so we were playing Ranbow Six Vegas on PC one day when I saw this and.....Well, just look at the picture.

Did ya get the memo?....

So, Im not sure why, but the other day I decided to pop the game F.E.A.R. into my computer and play for a bit. I haven't touched this game since I beat it shortly after it came out a few years ago. I don't know, maybe it was because the new one is getting close to release?

Anyways, I was playing and came across this. I'm sure its probably been pointed out before by someone, but I just noticed it for the first time a few days ago.

A little appreciation

A little TV show called Freaks and Geeks came on TV back in the 1999–2000 TV season. And if you watch the intro video above you can see that their are a few familiar faces. James Franco from Spider-Man 1-3, Seth Rogan from 40 Year old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad, and all those other summer comedies most of us have seen a laugh our asses off too. Also Jason Segel from some show with Doogie Howser, and from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. If you have never seen this show I have to recomend it, it about the reality of high school, you know not the OC or 90210 pretty people with problems crap, but stuff they might actually happen or maybe even did happen to some of you. It's also a damn funny show, and it's a shame NBC canceled it so quickly. It was one of the shows that was good but NBC couldn't get their head out of thier ass and find a deffinate time slot for it so people just never knew when it was on. Anyway just wanted to give a shoutout to this show, I think it's a must watch, anybody who went to high school felt like these kids from time to time.

Pawn shop ads.....What is the deal?!?...

Im not sure what the deal is, but it seems like pawn shops are required to have rediculous commercials, and living so close to Hartford means I seem to see them all. Check out below for just a few of the whacked out ads that you may or may not have seen on tv.

WTF?!?

_________________________________________________________________________________

Not sure what to say about this one....

__________________________________________________________________________________

I know everyone has seen these, but a post about pawn shop ads that doesnt include this seems just wrong...

All my broken joowry...

This is just creepy....

so $2500.00 is all it takes to make you forget about how you husband just kicked off huh?

Remember this?...

I have no idea why, but this old TV commercial from a few years ago popped into my head. I used to get a good laugh out of it back then and its still funny now. Just thought i needed to post it here.

The Shield's Final Act Starts Tonight

It's be a long time coming but The Final Season of The Shield starts tonight and I for one can't wait. I don't know to much about this season, FX has been very hush hush, and that's hard to do considering the last episode was filmed last November. Because of the writer strike we had to wait another 9 months just to see this season. I am going to do a little overview of the seasons and then give a few predictions on this final season. Do not read the overview if you have never seen the show and plan to watch it sometime because their will be spoilers.

Season 1:
Vic Kill's Terry becuase Terry was planing on ratting on the Strike Team and their dirty deals.
Vic and Shane get away with killing another cop, Ronnie and Lem have

Season 2:
The Strike Team steals money from the Armenian Mob (Armenian Money Train)

Season 3:
The Strike Team tries to stay of the radar as being the ones who stole from the Money Train
Lem gets paranoid and scared so he burns almost all the money
The Strike Teams breaks up

Season 4:
Antwon Mitchell Shows up
New Captian has decided to put some faith in Vic
Shane gets in deep with Antwon
Strike Team reforms to help get Shane out of trouble

Season 5:
Lt. Kavanaugh from IAD opens a case on Vic and his Strike Team
Vic is back on the radar for the death of Terry
Vic is also being pushed into early retirement
Lem gets picked up by IAD for heroin and is asked to turn on his team
Lem doesn't turn, he tells his guys he is wired, Strike Team does every thing they can to keep Lem out of prison
Lem gets offered a deal for 5 years in prison and wants to take it
The Strike team here's that Lem takes a deal and thinks Lem is turning on them
Shane meets up with Lem and kills him, thinking he is saving him and the rest of the team
Vic plans to kill who ever killed Lem, not knowing it's Shane who did it

Season 6:
Shane finds out that Lem was never going to turn on him, so he killed his best friend for no reason
Vic finds out that Shane killed Lem, Shane makes a list of all the shit they have done just incase
Shane gets into business with Armenians, tells them about Vic and the money train not knowing it would be bad
Shane tries to protect Vic and his family, Vic thinks he's trying to hurth them
Vic finds leverage on some higher ups which could help save his job

So season 7 starts in about 9 hours, I have to work so I will miss it but thank God for my DVR. Here is a small preview of season 7:

My predictions. I don't think anybody will die, Vic is going to Mexico I can just see that happening. I think Vic's end will be alone and drunk in Mexico. I had always thought Ronnie was undercover, he doesn't say much and is way to clean for somebody who is a dirty cop. But I think he is just smart and in the end will look out for himself since he knows he can't trust Vic and Shane.
Everything else I will learn in the coming weeks, I bet I am wrong on every prediction, I hope I am. We will soon find out though. It's taken a while but the night is finally here and I am pumped.

Max Payne The Movie

Found this today, bit of an update and a much better version of the trailer I saw a few months back.

Not to sure what the bird things are. I played both Max Payne 1 and 2 and never once did I see a guy with wings. I think they are called Valkier (sp) and from what I remember Valkier is a really fucked up drug, not a dude with wings. But I could be wrong, I just hope this movie is good, would be nice to see a movie based off a video game that is actually good. Guess their is still hope for Metal Gear Solid.

New possibilities for Guitar Hero World Tour...

In a post made last week on the website of Game centric cable channel G4, a rumor was hinted that there would be an additional instrament controller that had so far not been announced. Of course even a hint such as this sends the internet message boards alight with speculation as to what exactly it might be. I have decieded to add fuel to the fire by offering a few of my ideas on what the new controller might be.

Recorder Hero - Relive third grade music class. Play all the hits such as Yankee doodle dandy with the new recorder controller!

Headbang Hero - A motion sensative wig lets you live out all your 80's thrash metal fantasies!

Bongo Hero - Play the bongos to terrible covers of all your favorite dentist office tunes such as Willie Nelson's "On the road Again." and The Supremes' "You Cant Hurry Love"! ...Wait forget this one. Nintendo already lamed up this idea in Donkey konga.

PVC tube Hero - Blue Man Group covers?!?

Spoon Hero - Tell all your friends to "Come together while you can. Save me..." from having to play the spoons in GHWT. (Soundgarden reference for all those of you that didnt get it)

Nose-whistle Hero - Nothing witty to say about this. the term "Nosewhistle" is funny enough.

Beets Hero - Bang on trashcans or drum on streetlights! Its Beets Hero!

Tin Can in a Echo-ey Room Hero - Now you can reproduce the same drum sounds that Lars Ulrich did on Metallica's St. Anger album

And of course, if any of these idea's come to be reality (not gunna happen, but i think i would shit a pickle if any of em did), Activision would of course be sued by some company that we never heard of that will claim Activision stole the technology to make the controller. The suit will get dropped and the unknown company's 15 minutes of fame will be over.

New Releases of 08/26/08

So this week I will try to keep it short and sweet. The Shield Season 6 came out today and that will be my main focus. Sometime within the next week I will be doing something on the entire series, dunno what yet, but it's needed as the 7th and final season starts next Tuesday. A show as incredible as this deserves something from somebody like myself who is blown away by each season.

The Shield - The Complete Sixth Season:

Continuing directly after season 5, Vic and the Strike Team are distraught over Lem's death. Shane has been overcome by guilt and becomes reckless and suicidal. Kavanaugh refuses to let the case die and resorts to planting evidence and coercing witnesses to lie about the Strike Team. Dutch and Claudette begin to suspect his integrity. Vic learns from Claudette that the Chief plans to force him into early retirement — and vows to wreak bloody vengeance on Lem's killer before losing his badge. Claudette learns that the Barn could be shut down if no improvements are made by the time quarterly crime statistics are released.

The 6th season of The Shield was a great season, not as great as season 5, but when you come off such an incredible season and quite possibly one of the best season finalies I have even seen on TV, it's hard to live up to such hype (ask all the fans of heroes). This season was meant to be the last but Shawn Ryan (creator) thought he could add more to the story. It's really hard not to go into detail about this show, or this season. Forest Whitaker is back for 2 episodes as Lt. Kavanaugh, putting Lem's (Kenny Johnson) death on Vic (Michael Chiklis). Forest Whitaker is great in the role of Kavanaugh. He went from being the guy who wants Vic in jail for the death of Terry Crowley (long story) and being very good at what he does, to planting evidence in Vic's apartment which would lead to him being arrested for Lem's murder. He does come clean about it before anything happens to Vic but it just shows that Vic is the type of guy who can turn anybody dirty. "I planted evidence on a guilty man" my favorite line of Whitaker, because it's so true. Vic ultimatley finds out that Shane, his best friend, was the one who killed Lem, which we knew would happen I mean Vic may be dirty but he's a damn good cop and would have figured it out soon enough. With Vic knowing sets up for the 7th and final season witch I will go into more detail in my blogs about the shield later this week.

Final verdict? TV shows are hard, to give a rating to but I will say that this show to me is the best show on all of TV and I don't know if I will ever see something as good as The Shield. So I am going to give this a... buy/rent. Why? This show needs to be seen and you need to start from the beginning. So rent the first season to see if the shows is for you, I mean you may be crazy and think it's terrible. But if you love the shield and have season 1-5 then you need to buy this dvd and throw in you collection next to the rest. And sometime next year pick up season 7 and have the entire series, and brag to all your friends how it is to be awesome, I will be.

What to do with your PS3 after you beat MGS4….

So, you own an Xbox 360 and you bought a PS3 just to play Metal Gear Solid 4. Chances are if this is true, you’ve most likely beaten the game. Now that you have already seen the final adventure (or so they say) of Solid Snake, what are you gunna do with that beautiful and expensive piece of hardware now? You might feel like you wasted your money on it. Toss those fears aside. The following is a top 10 list of ideas for what you can do with your PS3 until the next big exclusive comes around…

10. PS2 games?
If your PS3 can do it. That’s pretty much all I did for the first 2 months after I got mine. Motorstorm did nothing for me.

9. Baseball Fan?
Play MLB 08 The Show. 2k sucks harder this year than it did last year.

8. Defrost frozen meats.
Get your frozen chicken and burger patties ready for the grill in seconds! This thing throws off so much heat that you could probably even do some grilling on the exhaust port on the back side. (Disclaimer: Doing this will probably void your warranty.)

7. Home…
Yeah, log online and connect with others on PlayStation Home. Ok, so its still not out yet. Instead, go online and read about how Sony claims this is going to be fun and not totally lame. I’m sure I’ll at least check it out when they finally end up releasing it though. Maybe I'll be wrong? Probably not.

6. Browse the Internet.
No…Don’t do this. Use your pc.

5. Look up information on Africa.
Not the continent, the game, Afrika. Oohhh it has a ‘K’ in it, see what they did there? This game has been referred to as the spiritual successor to Pokemon Snap. I didn’t realize we needed a successor to that one. On Wikipedia, it’s listed as being in the Safari simulation genre. I would venture to say it’s the only game in that genre. Sony claims this will be fun too. Does anyone really care?

4. DVD’s....no! Blu-ray movies…
Why not use it as a blu-ray player? If you are hooked up to a HDTV you have no excuse. The difference in overall quality is huge. Now that prices are starting to come down slowly, and selection is getting better, this should be done by every PS3 owner ….Seriously…go….buy some blu-ray movies.

3. Play every cross platform game (PS3 and Xbox 360) on it that you are interested in that doesn't feature online gameplay. *1
At least you won’t get the red ring 'o death out of your PS3. The only reason to get a game that is cross platform for the Xbox, instead of the PS3, is Xbox Live. As fantastic as the PS3 is, its online service is certainly lacking in comparison to Live. Remember, the best things in life obviously aren’t free when it comes to the world of gaming….

2. Download the Metal Gear Database on the Playstation store.
It’s free, its essential to understanding some of the more complex storylines in the series, and its long enough (that’s what she said) to keep you busy until something else comes out (Star Wars the Force Unleashed?).

1. Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
While PS3 exclusive titles may be few and far between, this is one that should be played by everyone. Uncharted was one of the most entertaining games to come out last year, and while it may be short; it was definitely an experience to remember. Incredible story, characters, and visuals come together with some of the best videogame voice work ever recorded to make this game a must play for all PS3 owners. If you own a PS3 and you haven’t played this yet, you deserve to be thrown down a flight of stairs…

*1 I am by no means a Playstion fanboy. I own all three systems and enjoy all three equally. I just don’t appreciate when hardware doesn’t work. In short, I don’t trust my Xbox 360 enough to use it for more than I have to.

DVD/Blu-Ray Roundup 08/19/08

This is the first edition of the many editions to come of the DVD/Blu-Ray Roundup, and yes I am thinking of a better name. Here I will give some reviews of the newest releases on, well you guessed it, DVD and Blu-Ray. I wont get to lengthy on them just a simple what I liked and didn't like then rate them as Pick Up, Rent, or Skip. So without wasting to much more time, I give you:

DVD/Blu-Ray Roundup [E1] 08/19/08

This week I will be reviewing Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Street Kings, both reviews will be based on the Blu-Ray versions.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Set after the events in 'Terminator 2' Sarah Connor and her son John, trying to stay under-the-radar from the government as they plot to destroy the computer network Skynet in hopes of preventing Armageddon.

When this show was first announced, I had a good laugh thinking for damn sure that this show would suck balls, and then it aired in January. Now I love the Terminator series, I even tolerate the 3rd movie, so I had to give it a small shot... well that and 24 wasn't on this season so I needed something to watch. So enough with the excuses. Fact is this show is pretty damn good and took me by surprise as being a decent show. Now some of you will be happy t
o learn it completely ignores Terminator 3 which is good because although I could stand it it wasn't as good as the first two and I am in the minority for even enjoying it just a little bit. With that said it has 2 very hot chicks in it, Lena Headey (300) and Summer Glau(The 4400, Firefly). And some of you might remember Thomas Dekker (John Connor) who played Clair's weird friend from the first season of Heroes. Also on the show near the end of the season, Brian Austin Green. Green plays Derek Reese, Kyle Reese's brother, he does a good job, and the one thing I like about his character is we get to see some future...flashbacks (make sense of that). The show has some pretty decent special effects, not great, but decent for a show like this. The one problem I had was in the pilot episode Summer Glau, who plays the Terminator on the Connors side, acted very human like when she first met John. I'm sure this was to throw off the viewer so we couldn't guess she was a Terminator but it just seemed a little odd when the second episode aired and she was acting all robot like. There's a few other small things here and there that I wont go into because it's really not a big deal. So for the most part Fox has picked up a pretty solid show, which I can only hope goes past a 2nd season. Thomas Dekker, Brian Austin Green, Lena Headey, Summer Glau

Now for the rating. I am going to have to give this a rent. Not that it's not worth owning, I just don't see the point in owning it now. When the series ends, or knowing Fox gets canceled, then I think any fan of the show or even Terminator alone might want to have this in their collection. Oh and as a Blu-Ray disc, the picture was very sharp, but aren't they always?

I didn't have a chance to watch the extras so I will en
d this review with the list of features.

Features:

  • "Creating the Chronicles" featurette - an all-encompassing look at the production process involved with every aspect of bringing Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles to television.
  • Commentaries - includes executive producers Josh Freidman & John Wirth, cast members Summer Glau & Thomas Dekker, and more.
  • Terminated Scenes (i.e. deleted scenes)
  • Gag Reel
  • Cast Audition Tapes - includes Lena Headey, Thomas Dekker, and Richard T. Jones
  • Storyboard Animatic - featuring the storyboard sequence of the school session where Cromartie attacks and John narrowly escapes
  • Summer Glau Dance Rehearsal
  • Extended Director's Cut of Episode The Demon Hand

Street Kings:

Tom Ludlow (Keanu Reeves) is a veteran LAPD cop who finds life difficult to navigate after the death of his wife. When evidence implicates him in the execution of a fellow officer, he is forced to go up against the cop culture he's been a part of his entire career, ultimately leading him to question the loyalties of everyone around him.

When I first saw the trailer for this back in March I thought this movie looked like it had potential but also thought it could end up being Training Day 3 (Harsh Times being Training Day 2). So I was a little skeptical. But I will say I was blown away by this movie. Keanu Reeves did something new, he acted... kind of. I really didn't seem to noticed if he was doing a bad job at acting because this movie had me sucked in until the end. Forest Whitaker did an awesome job, as usual. I don't know what it is about this guy but he seems to make movies great, even if they are just God awful (see Vantage Point). I am sure after a second viewing I will have some things that I didn't like about this movie but as of now I can't think of anything, I just thought it was a hell of a movie.

Keanu Reeves as Tom Ludlow

For Street Kings I am going to give it a rent. Now I personally am going to buy it but I have to think of the people reading this who just want to watch a movie and buy the classics. I enjoyed it enough to know it will watch this at least once a year. But for the average movie watcher I say rent it, and enjoy it.

Next week I will be reviewing The Shield season 6 (Bough FUCKING time) and more.

See You Next Week

Stuck in my head....

I love Rock Band!

I have a grand total of 2 games for my Xbox 360 currently, and Rock Band is one of them. A few weeks ago, in the weekly DLC update, 2 shinedown songs were released, "Devour", and a never before released song called "Junkies For Fame". Being a fan of Shinedown, I decieded I needed to download this never released song. Ever since I did, I cant get the damn thing out of my head. So if you haven't heard it yet here it is...

It has begun....

Welcome to our blog!

2 Crude Doods will be a collaborative effort between me and my partner in crime Nate. Here you will find a collection of all things that we find fun and funny, and most likely childish and stupid. We will post our thoughts on all things entertainment (games, tv, movies, music), but other things like current events may pop up from time to time.

In the future, we hope to post some video of our own, to share with the world, the stupid things that happen when we sit down with an online pc game. Our only hope is that someone out there finds this stuff as funny as we do.

Keep checking back with us as we work to post more content!
