What to do with your PS3 after you beat MGS4….

So, you own an Xbox 360 and you bought a PS3 just to play Metal Gear Solid 4. Chances are if this is true, you’ve most likely beaten the game. Now that you have already seen the final adventure (or so they say) of Solid Snake, what are you gunna do with that beautiful and expensive piece of hardware now? You might feel like you wasted your money on it. Toss those fears aside. The following is a top 10 list of ideas for what you can do with your PS3 until the next big exclusive comes around…

10. PS2 games?
If your PS3 can do it. That’s pretty much all I did for the first 2 months after I got mine. Motorstorm did nothing for me.

9. Baseball Fan?
Play MLB 08 The Show. 2k sucks harder this year than it did last year.

8. Defrost frozen meats.
Get your frozen chicken and burger patties ready for the grill in seconds! This thing throws off so much heat that you could probably even do some grilling on the exhaust port on the back side. (Disclaimer: Doing this will probably void your warranty.)

7. Home…
Yeah, log online and connect with others on PlayStation Home. Ok, so its still not out yet. Instead, go online and read about how Sony claims this is going to be fun and not totally lame. I’m sure I’ll at least check it out when they finally end up releasing it though. Maybe I'll be wrong? Probably not.

6. Browse the Internet.
No…Don’t do this. Use your pc.

5. Look up information on Africa.
Not the continent, the game, Afrika. Oohhh it has a ‘K’ in it, see what they did there? This game has been referred to as the spiritual successor to Pokemon Snap. I didn’t realize we needed a successor to that one. On Wikipedia, it’s listed as being in the Safari simulation genre. I would venture to say it’s the only game in that genre. Sony claims this will be fun too. Does anyone really care?

4. DVD’s....no! Blu-ray movies…
Why not use it as a blu-ray player? If you are hooked up to a HDTV you have no excuse. The difference in overall quality is huge. Now that prices are starting to come down slowly, and selection is getting better, this should be done by every PS3 owner ….Seriously…go….buy some blu-ray movies.

3. Play every cross platform game (PS3 and Xbox 360) on it that you are interested in that doesn't feature online gameplay. *1
At least you won’t get the red ring 'o death out of your PS3. The only reason to get a game that is cross platform for the Xbox, instead of the PS3, is Xbox Live. As fantastic as the PS3 is, its online service is certainly lacking in comparison to Live. Remember, the best things in life obviously aren’t free when it comes to the world of gaming….

2. Download the Metal Gear Database on the Playstation store.
It’s free, its essential to understanding some of the more complex storylines in the series, and its long enough (that’s what she said) to keep you busy until something else comes out (Star Wars the Force Unleashed?).

1. Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
While PS3 exclusive titles may be few and far between, this is one that should be played by everyone. Uncharted was one of the most entertaining games to come out last year, and while it may be short; it was definitely an experience to remember. Incredible story, characters, and visuals come together with some of the best videogame voice work ever recorded to make this game a must play for all PS3 owners. If you own a PS3 and you haven’t played this yet, you deserve to be thrown down a flight of stairs…

*1 I am by no means a Playstion fanboy. I own all three systems and enjoy all three equally. I just don’t appreciate when hardware doesn’t work. In short, I don’t trust my Xbox 360 enough to use it for more than I have to.
